No attorney-client relationship

Nothing on this website is legal advice, and neither reading it, submitting the Risk Scorecard, sending an email, nor booking a call creates an attorney-client relationship. An attorney-client relationship with the firm is formed only by a signed engagement agreement. Until that agreement is signed, do not send confidential information you would want treated as privileged.

Licensure and jurisdiction

Guy Muller is licensed to practice law in Texas. Manuscript clearance reviews content against legal standards that may apply anywhere a book is distributed in the United States, but that review is a Texas law practice and does not constitute the practice of law in any other state. Where a matter requires counsel admitted elsewhere, the firm says so and helps you find them.

Results and the guarantee

The Cleared, or It's Free guarantee is a fee guarantee, defined and conditioned in the engagement agreement: if a publisher's legal review flags an issue in material we cleared after our recommendations were implemented, we rework and re-review at no cost until it passes, and if we cannot get it cleared, the Clearance fee is refunded. "Cleared" means legally cleared for publication by the publisher's legal review; editorial and taste decisions belong to the publisher. Every publisher's legal team applies its own risk tolerance, which is why re-review of flagged material is included. The guarantee requires that our recommendations were implemented; your book and its risk decisions remain yours, and if you choose to forego our recommendations, the firm is not responsible for the consequences and the guarantee does not cover them. The refund covers the fee and the fee only. No lawyer can guarantee that nobody files a claim, and this firm does not. Mitigation reduces risk and a claimant's likelihood of success; nothing eliminates the right to file. Prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome.
